Fly By MAS or AirAsia

Well.. if you would like to go on a Holiday.. would you fly with MAS or AirAsia?

Since MAS is offering Rm 0 for the tickets for Local Flights (tax not included) its still cost slightly higher compared to AirAsia.. for example i check out MAS website (booking from 5/05/08 - 19/05/08) or by AirAsia with the new promotion even lower than RM 0.. This is price war between 2 carriers.. Airasia's website even show us the easy calculations on the both promotion doing by these 2 carriers.

So which one would you choose?
AirAsia or Mas?

The difference that i may come out is based solely on my own opinion
AirAsia
Have travelled 2 times.. (Terengganu and Langkawi), my flights for Terengganu was perfect.. no delay at all and everything was on time.. plus i got it for a very good deal.. Thanks to Airasia. But to my dismay for langkawi trip my flight was delayed for 5 hours.. damn.. got nothing to do in LCCT one wor..

Transportation to LCCT.. you could choose to self drive or take shuttle bus which is available in alot of places.. to name a few.. Jln Ipoh.. and KL Central.. other than that i'm not sure..

AIRBUS - according to Airasia's billboards they're flying by airbus all the way now. Its either the smaller or bigger airbus that's all..

Food - by AirAsia.. everything you will need to pay.. from drinks to food.. but at the end of the day you'll save about Rm 20 based on my calculation for the flight that i surveyed.

MAS
Also have travelled 2 times (1 hongkong 1 Kuantan)
I can say i'm pretty satisfied with the service.. though they have about 10 - 15 minutes delay..(still better than 5 hours)

Transportation to KLIA
You can opt for a few methods to go to KLIA.. you could take the KLIA Express from KL Central all the way to KLIA in only about 28 minutes non stop to KLIA. The fares would be - Rm 35 for Adults single journey.. You could take a cab if you're sharing with a few people.



Planes - MAS is still flying with their Boeing planes

Food - For MAS everything is paid for.. fruit juices.. beer.. salted grounduts or meals if you're travelling on long flights.

Verdict.. would you like to save RM 20 but pay more on board with AirAsia (that is if you're buying their food) or pay more for transportation to KLIA.. its still your decision..But this promotion from MAS have just started and we won't know if it will be on going like AirAsia's one.
