On Sat 31/05/2008 i joined a inhouse snooker tournament in World Snooker Centre near the KDU college.. i lost the 1st round itself.. didn't had the mood to go on as the place was full of smoke.. hard to breathe.. plus i foul about 15 times (12 yum sui, 3 black yum sui) .. it was a bad sight to see and not a good game i've played actually..
But whatever it is i enjoyed the game as i played very well in first 2games.
i wouldn't say that the place i joined the competition manage to fully test my snooker level as the tables there are not international standards (table cloth not iron often, diff table with different heights, some table with all 6 different pocket size.) the list goes on and on and on.. but then again.. i still lost..
My next post will have much that contributed to this loss..

Preparation before Snooker competition!
What are the preparation you need before going for a competition?
Well the tips that i manage to gather and remembered when i 1st joined my 1st every snooker competition in Snooker Arena.. hmm maybe in year 2003 or something.
1)Get enough rest the day before so you can focus better mentally and also physically
2)Do not overeat cause it will leave you bloated and it affects you cause you will need to bend while cueing and that affects your performance
3)Practise at the club that you're playing and try to get use to the table there cause every snooker club's table and cloth is different
4)Practise often and play from memory.
5)Do not underestimate your opponent.
6)Play safe when you're not confident in the shot you're making
7)Do not be overconfident over and easy shot. Many people lost because of this mistake.
8)Be calm and don't be nervous as it will tense you up
This is the tips i can remember and learn and it does affect your game play during the competition.
For me no one thought me the proper basic of snooker and what to do and what not. But i learn mostly from observation. Be it from youtube, real life or even on Astro.

Snooker Competition Coming Up!!
Well.. this is confirmed.. unless the snooker centre call the snooker competition off..
I will be playing in World Snooker Centre.. don't be deceived by the name.. its not world class nor super big snooker centre.. just a small 2nd floor shoplot snooker centre. But i've been wanting to join a competition to challenge myself and see my own limits..
For me snooker is like a lifetime never ending learning game.. i realised that i have this kinda hobby like fishing and snooker.. both also you can't finish learning one.. the thing is.. this hobby involves a tool.. fishing .. a fishing rod.. snooker ... a snooker cue.. so i find this kinda hobbies rather very challenging..
So these few days i will be doing some "revision" and it feels like you're going for exams.. to test your limits..
I happen to stumble upon some websites to improve myself.. what to do.. cannot afford to pay tuition fees so i have to learn myself lor..
1) Learning from youtube.. see the video's played by the top ranking players in the world
2) learning from websites.. www.fcsnooker.com, http://www.engr.colostate.edu/~dga/pool/normal_videos/index.html
www.maximumbreak.com
Then it comes to practical lessons where i play with my friends and get use to the tables..
Wish my all the best this weekend.. ;)

Snooker
Taking a deep thought about when i started to play snooker. After frying some of my brain cells and drying some of my brain juices, i finally recall that i started snooker pretty late (comapred to most of my friends).. it all started when i was in form 3 (1995) my 1st game ever that i played cost me Rm7.20.. (still remember it very clearly cause it was RM 7.20 per hour)
Now after thinking back history.. me and my friends used to gather in the arcades to play snooker or even arcade games that time. Damn i missed those days where arcade games only cost 20 cents per game. I've come to a stage where i started to pick up this sport or hobby or whatever you call it.. I remember that i payed alot of $$ cause we practice loser pay for the table money. Its not a cheap "tuition" and experience i would say.. but eventually it payed off.. after training and playing with most of my friends. . I've learn how to control the cue ball.. not perfect yet.. but at least i know where its going.. a friend once told me.. "when you control the cue ball, you control the game"
Now after 13 years and still playing snooker (occasionally) i can say that i achieved something at the end of the day.. what did i achieve you may ask? I'd say that i manage to finish a game in less than 20 minutes.. Hmm.. that's 3 times faster than before.. I would say that snooker is a fun, interesting and mentally straining game (that is if you play it seriously) I can say that i learn something new everyday and i can't never stop learning from snooker. But one thing for sure.. i can proudly say that i understand the game much better.. not because of 13 years.. but through different people that I've played with.
The last time that i played snooker ..was on the 21/04/2008.. played about 9 games . Highest break yesterday(meaning you get the most point in one turn) would be 26 points (2 pinks and 2 blue).
Well.. i don't really know what to blog about.. but i will definitely get inspired soon.. as i already have a few things in mind to blog about.
